Responsible and accountable to the Friendship Head Office Focal of UNFPA, SRHR Project for the duties and performance.
Assist and manage NVD during normal vaginal delivery
Responsible to provide ANC and PNC and family planning and PAC services to the relevant patients.
Patient counseling especially on FP methods and Adolescent health.
Responsible for maintain relevant documents.
Establish a proper infection prevention (IP) system at her working station (Union Family Welfare Centre), including housekeeping.
Examining and monitoring pregnant women
Assessing care requirements and writing care plans
Undertaking antenatal care
Carrying out screening tests
Providing information, emotional support and reassurance to women and their partners
Taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures
Caring for and assisting women in labour
Ability to conduct partograph
Monitoring and administering medication, injections, and intravenous infusions during labour
Monitoring the fetus during labour
Advising about and supporting parents in the daily care of their newborn babies
Provide and or ensure Post Abortion Care (PAC) service
Helping parents cope with miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, and neonatal death
Documentation and records keeping
Identifying high-risk pregnancies and ensure in time and proper referral
Provide FP counseling and ensure methods
Provide counseling to the Adolescent
Midwives may work on a roster and be on call to provide care on a 24-hour basis.
Prepare monthly report
Prepare and present reports on cases, incidents, initiatives etc. during team meetings and department meetings in order to share experience(s) and learning with team members.
Attend all training/clinical sessions
Actively take part in mentoring activities organized by Friendship
Develop and demonstrate an interest in a particular specialty
Any work assigned as per advice by the concerned authority.
Qualifications
Completed government-accredited Midwives Course and register under the Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM)
