ED: Schools can’t stay closed forever

It makes little sense to keep educational institutions closed at this point
There is no doubt that, ever since the pandemic found its way into Bangladesh’s borders, the government has, despite a few hiccups along the way, done its best in terms of putting the health of the nation first, be it through stimulus packages to vulnerable segments of society, the procurement of vaccines, or the implementation of strict lockdowns.

However, if there is one area where its decisions have not made sense -- more specifically, the Education Ministry -- it is in the decision to keep schools and colleges closed, despite the fact that there have been multiple instances when the lockdown has been lifted.

As such, it is indeed welcome news to hear from the prime minister herself, that measures are being taken to inoculate students following WHO guidelines and that steps are being taken to open up these places soon.
