The Department of Environment (DoE) in Chattogram today fined one person and five companies, including two shipbreaking yards, a total of Tk 22.60 lakh for violating its conditions. The fine was imposed after a hearing at the DoE office located in Khulsi of the port city, reports our Chattogram correspondent.
