Responsibility

  • Manage end to end country / country cluster operations for the company by focusing on sourcing, manufacturing, and production.
  • Support to oversee the day-to-day activities for the other office functions. (e.g., Production planning, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and general office functions)
  • Work very closely and build strong relationship with the Asia sourcing HQ ensuring that the Country objectives are in line with the Carter's Global Sourcing strategy roadmap.
  • Bridge communication and business updates from Bangladesh operations directly to Hong Kong office.
  • Anticipate potential issues and proactively provide solutions to team and leadership
  • Develop long term sourcing strategy and risk mitigation plan for the region and build/manage strategic relationships with vendors.
  • Be responsible for sourcing new vendor base including Fabric and Trim Suppliers.
  • Meet needs in Quality/Pricing Standards, production capacity levels, compliance matters, etc.
  • Support negotiations with vendors and drive fact-based costing process for the region
  • Liaising with vendors, third parties (e.g., logistics, transportation, trim, fabric, etc.) to effective resolve conflicts.
  • Identify high potential employees and build succession plan with team leads. Grow and develop the merchandising and production planning professionals; set and achieve aggressive annual team goals, challenge status quo/lead courageously.
  • Manage Bangladesh sourcing team and India sourcing contractors and reinforce Carter's culture and values.
  • Develop a team of professionals and being responsible to support their career development.
  • Lead a team to work directly with cross-functional partners embracing the ONE team CGS mentality.
  • Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably with a major focus in Apparel/Textile or related discipline, post-graduate degree preferred.
