Responsibility

  • Reinforce the written, taught and learned elements of the IB Biology curriculum framework and the ongoing development of subject-based units of inquiry
  • Collaboration of Leadership team and teachers for the integration of stand-alone, single subjects and Biology curriculum units of inquiry.
  • Assist with the publication of the curriculum development committee and the school community.
  • Source new teaching materials, websites, professional books and journals learning, growing, understanding.
  • Attendance at MYP and DP meetings, classroom walk through and observations, organizing and leading professional development sessions.
  • Help out with the exhibition in the final year of the programmes.
  • To comply with all school policies and guidelines and take part in whole-school reviews of policy and aims.
  • To provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to the development and learning of individual pupils and groups of pupils.
  • To evaluate and review one's own teaching methods, materials and schemes of work, and to make changes as appropriate.
  • To keep up-to-date with current educational thinking and practice, both by study and by attendance at courses, workshops and meetings, and take part in appraisals and reviews of one's work arranged by the MYP and DP Programme Coordinators.
  • To establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other staff members, exhibit appropriate professional conduct and dress, and communicate positive aspects of our school to the public.
  • Participate in school programme and student fields trips.
  • Carry out supervisory duties at break times and / or at the beginning or end of the school day.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings.
  • Attend special events and support student functions outside of the regular school day.
  • Teach after-school enrichment classes for students who need extra help.
  • To perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Programme Coordinators and Director Curriculum.

    • Qualifications

  • MUST have Bachelor's/Master's degree in Biology from any reputed university;
  • Certificate in Teaching/Education- B.Ed, M. Ed.
