Prices of essential commodities remain high

Prices of essential commodities remained high in the city’s kitchen markets over the week ending on Friday. Traders said that the prices of most of the commodities remained high in the city and there was no possibility that the prices would ease within a short time. The prices of vegetables had slightly decreased but the prices of most of the winter vegetables remained high. Aubergine sold for Tk 70-80 a kg, papaya for Tk 25-30 a kg, bitter gourd for Tk 60-70 a kg, bottle gourd for Tk 50-60 apiece, okra for Tk 50-60 a kg, pointed gourd for Tk 50-60 a kg, cauliflower for Tk 40-50 apiece, cabbage for Tk 30-40 apiece, bean for Tk 40-50 a kg, cucumber for Tk 60 a kg, carrot for Tk 70-100 and tomato for Tk 120-130 a kg on Friday.
