Lives are still being claimed on the road every day There is much in terms of infrastructural development that Bangladesh can be proud of, and now, with the Metro Rail project moving ahead at full steam, there is reason to hope that we will soon be in a new era of transportation. We cannot, however, close our eyes to the dangers on the roads that still plague our lives. The truth is, our roads and highways are still extremely unsafe, and road fatality statistics paint a grim picture. The 35km stretch between Faridpur Sadar upazila and Kamarkhali Bridge in Madhukhali upazila on the Dhaka-Khulna highway has become a death trap, and very little is being done to fix this problem.
