Belayet Hossain, superintendent of police of Rajshahi range, was sued yesterday for extortion in a case filed in Dhaka. Golam Mostofa, a businessman and a relative of a former inspector general of police, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Didar Hussain around noon yesterday. Some 15 to 16 unnamed people were also accused in the case.
