Grameenphone CEO besieged
Grameenphone officials and employees confined it’s Chief Executive Officer Tore Johnson to his office room on Monday morning demanding their six-point demand including protest of retrenchment process.

Officers and employees of all level of GP including sacked employees formed a human chain demonstration in front of head office of the Grameenphone at about 12pm.
Later, the demonstrating people besieged the office of CEO and addressing different speeches demanding reinstatement of their jobs and stop retrenchment process.
However, GP’s security department officer Ali Munshi is trying to negotiate with demonstrating employees on behalf of the CEO, source concerned said.
When contacted, agitating officials and employees told banglanews that they will continue their protest movement till retrenchment process is stopped and jobs are reinstated.
They also gave threat to close the Grameenphone if the demands are not met.
