Local airlines slash prices for Dhaka Travel Mart

About 50 organisations from different countries, including host Bangladesh, are taking part in the DTM

Airline and travel agencies are using the 14th edition of the Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) which began on Thursday as a platform to entice holidaymakers with a variety of offers and packages, reports BSS.
At the three-day DTM, national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines has offered 20% discount in economy class on six international routes in a bid to boost tourism.
The six routes are to and from Dhaka to Bangkok, Singapore, Yangon, Kuala Lumpur, Kolkata and Kathmandu.
After the 20%, the return fare on Dhaka-Bangkok-Dhaka route will stand at Tk21,854 while Dhaka-Singapore-Dhaka at Tk35,550, Dhaka-Yangon-Dhaka at Tk22,469, Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka at Tk25,542, Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka at Tk11,694 and Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka at Tk15,235.
Mentioning that the above fares are in net saleable from the DTM stall, a Biman spokesperson said: “The outbound journey must commence within 180 days from the date of buying the ticket.”
The national carrier is also offering a 7% discount on market fares on other routes during the DTM, he added.
Moreover, there will be a chance to win a Biman ticket everyday through a raffle draw against the gate entry ticket.
Private carrier NovoAir has offered holiday packages for local and international destinations with bank EMI facilities.
The package for Kolkata has started at BDT 2,777 and Cox’s Bazar at BDT 1,999 for per person on EMI facilities in the DTM.
In addition, NovoAir is also offering 15% discount on fare on its all routes during the event.
Passengers can enjoy a Kolkata package that includes the air fare and 2 nights in Hotel Hindusthan International with airport pick up and drop off.
Passengers in the Cox’s Bazar tour will get similar offer. Sayman Beach Resort, Ocean Paradise, Hotel The cox today, Windy Terrace, Best Western plus Heritage, Praasad paradise and Neeshorgo Hotel & Resort are available in this package.
US-Bangla Airlines – the title sponsor of the DTM – has offered a 15% discount on fares on all of its international and domestic routes during the event.
Moreover, visitors at the DTM have the chance to win tickets on international and domestic routes by participating in selfie contests and a raffle draw among others, he added.
About 50 organisations from different countries, including host Bangladesh, are taking part in the DTM. They include national tourism organisations (NTOs), airlines, tour operators, hotels, resorts, online booking portals and healthcare service providers.
Visitors will be able to visit the fair from 10am to 8pm until April 1, paying an entry fee of Taka 30.
