Meat merchants in Dhaka will go for a six-day strike from tomorrow demanding “withdrawal of excessive tax imposed to them at Dhaka’s Gabtali”.
Robiul Alam, secretary general of Bangladesh Meat Merchants' Association (BMMA), announced the strike during a human chain formed by the traders in front of the Jatiya Press Club today.
They said they will stem the supply of beef and mutton throughout Dhaka.
