Woman’s bullet-hit body found on Gulshan street

The bullet-hit body of an unidentified woman was found on a street in Gulshan-2 area of Dhaka early today.

The woman aged around 35 was wearing salwar kameez but her identity could not be ascertained immediately, morgue sources said.

Police recovered the body from road No. 43 of Gulshan-2 around 2:00 am, said Rafiqul Islam, assistant commissioner (Gulshan Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Later, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for an autopsy, he added.

“Two bullets were found inside her body,” Dr Sohel Mahmud, the head of the forensic department at the medical college, told The Daily Star.

Police are analysing the video footages collected from the nearby CCTV cameras to find out the clues to the incident, Rafiqul said.
