Shikari’s success made local industry happy

India-Bangladesh joint venture film Shikari’s winning of two Kalakar Awards on Sunday in Kolkata, India made the Bangladeshi actors and producer happy and encouraged. 

Shakib Khan starrer Shikari won the Kalakar Award in the best film category. For her performance in the film, Indian actress Srabonti won the award in the best actress category. 

Kalakar Awards is considered to be the most prestigious award ceremonies of the eastern part of India. 

Sharing his excitement Shakib Khan said, ‘I’m really happy and inspired. It is my first performance in a joint venture film with India and Shikari got huge popularity in Bangladesh and in India as well.’

The producer of the Bangladesh chapter of the film Abdul Aziz said, ‘I’m happy, excited and delighted. I was determined that joint venture films with India will do good business and earn critical acclaim in both countries. Shikari’s success proved it. We will produce more joint venture films.’

Ashok Dhanuka is the producer of the Indian chapter of the film. 

Shikari was released in Bangladesh in July and in India on the following month.
