Kamalapur Railway Station is witnessing long queues of holidaymakers as Bangladesh Railway began its sale of advance train tickets today to ensure a hassle-free journey ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Sales began at 8:00am at Dhaka’s Kamalapur and Chittagong railway stations simultaneously.
One will get a maximum of four tickets, Amzad Hossain, director general of Bangladesh Railway, said yesterday.
Today, the holidaymaker will get tickets for September 7. Tickets for September 8, 9, 10 and 11 will be sold on August 30 and 31 and September 1 and 2.
Similarly, return tickets for September 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 will be sold on September 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 correspondingly at Rajshahi, Khulna, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Lalmonirhat stations.
Eid-ul-Azha is expected to be celebrated on September 12.
