Law ministry to provide legal aid to prevent militancy

The Law Ministry will provide legal assistance to all districts administration to prevent militancy in the country, Law Minister Anisul Huq assured deputy commissioners today.

There is a monitoring cell under the ministry which can coordinate all districts administration and prosecution to stop bail of the suspects relating to the cases filed for militancy.

He came up with the assurance while talking to the reporters after attending the four-day annual meeting of the DCs at the Secretariat.

The government has a plan to appoint prosecutors through holding examination under the judicial service commission.

Prosecutors will be recruited gradually under the commission and 30 percent of them will be recruited in the first phase through the examination, he said adding a law has to be formulated for introducing the prosecution service.

He urged the DCs to implement the instructions given by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to them for the development of the country.
