BNP hid Elias Ali: Shamsul Haque Tuku
State Minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku on Wednesday alleged the BNP of hiding its leader M Elias Ali for which the government failed to find him out.
Tuku said this in a meeting of parliamentary standing committee of the home ministry in response to a question about M Elias Ali’s disappearance, meeting sources said.

Jatiya Party lawmaker Mujib-ul Haque Chunnu sharply reacted to this allegation coming from the state minister and said that he should go find Elias Ali in the BNP office or the party chief’s residence.
In the meeting, IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandaker regretted about not having “any hopeful progress” in finding out Elias, in reply to a question from Chunnu.
Emerging from the meeting, Major General (Retd) Abdus Salam, president of the committee, told the reporters that they pressed hard on the law enforcers to trace out Elias.
M Elias Ali remains missing for over a month, since April 18.
