We must win the battle of street: Moudud

BNP standing committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed on Tuesday said “Legal battle will be continued in court and street simultaneously. We must win the battle of the street. The government must have to give Elias back,” he added.

He came up with statement while addressing at a human chain in front of National Press Club in the morning.

The demo was organized by Zia Parisad in protesting harassment of BNP leaders including raid at Mirza Abbas’s residence.

Moudud said, “Anti-government movement would not be stopped by suing BNP leaders.”

“Tougher programme will be enforced if our demand is not met. We do not want any conflict; we want negotiation over the issue. The government has to initiative for the negotiation. We want to cooperate with the government initiative,” he added.

Mentioning Hillary Clinton and Pranab Mukherjee’s Dhaka tour, Moudud said, “Foreign diplomats also advised to hold next general elections under a Non-partisan government. The government has to clear the way of negotiation through amending the constitution, if it wants to reach a negotiate disposal of the crisis.

The human chain was participated, among others, Zia Parisad chairman Kabir Murad, assistant secretary General Abdullahil Masud, with organization’s President Nurul Isalm Mazi in the chair.
