BNP seeks traffic police cooperation for road march
BNP has sought active cooperation from the police traffic department for smooth and peaceful starting of its Dhaka-Sylhet road march tomorrow (Monday).
A 3-member delegation led by Abdus Salam, member-secretary of BNP Dhaka City Committee met with Joint Commissioner (Traffic) Barrister Mahbubur Rahman at the DC (South, Traffic) ) office this (Sunday) morning.

Two other members of the BNP delegation were BNP national executive committee member Maj (retd) Mizanur Rahman and joint convenor, Dhaka City committee Abu Syeed Khokon.
DC (South, Traffic) Nazmul Ahsan, DC (East Traffic) Iqbal Hossain, DC (Uttara, Traffic) Masudur Rahman, DC (Matijheel) Anwar Hossain and DC (Wari) Mozammel Hossain were present in the meeting.
After the meeting Syeed Khokon told reporters that they have sought cooperation from the police to make sure all can take part in the road march in disciplined manner and the road march starts from the capital peacefully.
“We will maintain all discipline on our parts and we want police cooperation,” Khokon said.
The police officers assured the BNP delegation of all possible cooperation from them.
Khokon said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will start from her Gulshan house in the morning and lead the march from the party central office at 10 am.
He said it would be a big caravan of vehicles that would pass through Sapla Chattar, Ittefaque crossing and Jatrabari in the capital and take to the highway towards Sylhet.
“ We understand the city dwellers will have to face difficulties from 10am to 12noon and we want cooperation from all,”’ Khokon said.
