Introduction of e-traffic system underway: Sahara

Home minister Advocate Sahara Khatun today said introduction of e-traffic system as part of digitization of existing system is underway.

"E-traffic system is being introduced to provide better service to the citizens," she said while launching a 'Traffic Awareness programme-2012' at Rajarbagh Police Line in the city.

State Mister for Local Government Jahangir Kabir Nanak was present on the occasion as the special guest with Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Benzir Ahmed in the chair.

Among others, Senior Home Secretary CQK Mustaque Ahmed, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Hassan Mahmood Khandaker, LGRD Secretary Abu Alam Mohammad Shahid Khan, Communications Secretary M A N Siddique, President of 'Nirapod Sarak Chai' artiste Illias Kanchan and Chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Auyubur Rahman spoke.

The Home Minister urged all concerned, including passengers, drivers and common people, to abide by the traffic rules.

Jahanagir Kabir Nanak said many people did not respect the traffic law that causes severe traffic jam and road mishaps.

Later, the home minister inaugurated a website of traffic police.A colorful rally was brought out in the city on the occasion.
