Truth emerges from Porimol’s sexual assault on Viqarunnisa student: Nahid
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said inquiry committee has found truth behind Viqarunnisa Noon School teacher Porimol Jaydhar’s alleged sexual assault on a student of class X of the school’s Bashundhara branch.

The five-member inquiry committee of Dhaka Educational Board led by Controller (examinations) SM Wahiduzzaman submitted its inquiry report to the Education Minister on the alleged assault occurred at Parimal’s house-cum-coaching centre on May 28.
On July 5, the girl’s father filed a rape case against Porimol with Badda police station. In the face of strong protests by students and guardians of the school, Parimal was arrested from his relative’s house in Keraniganj on July 7.
Nahid said the inquiry committee interviewed 18 teachers, guardians and students about the incident and submitted a 24-page inquiry report.
According to the report, the Minister said the incident got complicated as the former Principal of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College did not take quick action.
He said the managing committee of the school also failed to take effective measures after the incident.
In reply to a question, Nahid said appropriate legal actions would be taken against the culprits on the basis of the inquiry committee report.
Secretary to the Education Ministry Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Dhaka Education Board chairman Prof Fahima Khatun and the members of the inquiry committee were present.
