Nanak urges Chhatra League, Jubo league workers to work for people
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak today called upon the leaders and workers of local Awami League and its front organizations to work voluntarily ahead of the Eid- ul-Fitr for reducing the traffic congestion in the city.

"The leaders of chhatra league and Jubo league should come forward to work with the police for easing the traffic flow in the city ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr", he said as the chief guest at the inaugural construction of the link bridge at Tejgaon Arong- Gulshan shooting club here.
Nanak said the Jubo and league and Chhatra League leaders should not confine their work in slogans and demonstrations only , but they need to work in a coordinated manner with the government for alleviating sufferings of the people.
Lawmaker Asaduzzaman Kamal of Dhaka-11 and Secretary of the Local Government Division Abu Alam Mohammad Shahid Khan also spoke as the special guests.
Administrator of Dhaka City Corporation (North) M Shahjahan Ali Molla chaired the function.
The State Minister said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for resolving the problem of water and power crisis in the city.
Terming the construction of Tejgaon Arong-Gulshan link bridge as an election pledge of the present government, Advocate Nanak said "the followers of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believe in people's power, not conspiracy."
Later, Nanak inaugurated the construction of 40- meter long and 19.10- meter width Tejgaon-Arong-Gulshan shooting Club link bridge which is being implemented by Dhaka North City Corporation.
The total construction cost of the bridge is Taka 6,61,55,000---Taka 6 crore is being provided by the government and the rest of is funded by the Dhaka North City Corporation from itys own resources.
The main objective of the link bridge is to reduce traffic congestion and control the traffic management including safe pedestrian crossing at Tejgaon Arong and Gulshan Shooting Club.
Executive Officer of Dhaka North City Corporation Nazrul Isalm, chief engineer of Dhaka North City Corporation Brigadier General Ahsanul Haque Mia, among others, spoke on the occasion.
