Austrian non-resident envoy meets Dipu Moni
The Austrian non-resident Ambassador to Bangladesh paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni at her office on Sunday.

During the visit, the Austrian envoy handed over a formal invitation from Austrian Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Foreign Minister Micheal Spindelegger to Dipu Moni to visit Austria.
The Austrian Minister has invited his Bangladesh counterpart for a bilateral visit to Austria in an effort to deepen the economic interactions and overall ties between the two countries, said a press release.
Dipu Moni warmly accepted the invitation.
The ambassador said Vienna is much appreciative of Bangladesh’s consistent progressive engagements at the global forums on a range of key issues and challenges over the decades and the economic advancement made in the recent years.
Dipu Moni said Bangladesh plans to open a Resident Mission in Vienna in 2013 considering its importance, particularly as being the host of a number of UN organisations.
She noted that currently Bangladesh exports goods of around Euro 250 million to Austria while imports that of around Euro 28 million.
The Foreign Minister also acknowledged that in spite of economic downturn in the Eurozone, Austria has demonstrated prudent fiscal discipline and posted positive economic growth.
She also underscored the need for greater and continued interactions between the two countries, especially in the business and the legislators.
