Govt allocates Tk 2.60 cr, 7050 tonnes rice for flood victims
The government has so far allocated Tk 2.60 crore and 7,050 tonnes of rice for the people of flood-hit districts.

Of the total amount, the government allocated Tk 1.35 crore and 5,000 tonnes of rice for the flood-affected people of several districts on Friday, said a handout.
An emergency meeting held with Relief and Rehabilitation Department Secretary Dr M Aslam in the chair on Friday discussed the latest flood situation.
High officials of the department were present at the meeting.
The handout said the death toll from the natural disaster in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Sylhet and Bandarban districts reached 118.
They were killed in separate incidents of hill slides, drowning, lightning caused by incessant rains in the last few days.
The government gave Tk 20,000 to each family for burial of the victims.
Additional secretary of Disaster Management and Relief Division Asit Kumar Mukut Moni was staying in Chittagong to coordinate the relief activities and help the local administration.
Besides, three directors and two deputy directors were staying in badly hit Chittagong, Bandarban, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet and Sunamganj districts for the same purpose.
