Recipe: Masala Potol
It is a perfect side dish for almost any rice and the hot crispy taste makes it a snack by itself for me. This is not only perfect in taste, but is also very healthy. It is very healthy dish for diabetes. Some people slit it into quarters while others cut them into thin rings, either way, it will be perfect.

Ingredients
- Potol: 250 gm
- Mustard seeds: 3 gm
- Moog dal: 5 gm
- Mashkalai dal (split): 5 gm
- Green chilli (chopped): 3
- Ginger (chopped): 1 small piece
- Onion (chopped): 50 gm
- Coconut (grated): 1
- Salt to taste
- Oil (refined): 50 ml
Method
Dice the Potol small, and boil the pieces in water to which a quarter teaspoon of turmeric and salt have been added.
In a sauté pan, add oil and when hot add the mustard, Moog dal and Mashkalai dal. Sauté for a minute then add chopped chillies, ginger and onion. Add a quarter teaspoon of turmeric and sauté for a while. Add the boiled Potol and sauté it for five minutes. To the mixture, add grated coconut to finish and serve hot.
