Group exhibition features diversified works
A variety of artistic works by a total of 13 artists from 1979 batch of the faculty of fine arts, Dhaka University fascinate the art lovers at the ongoing weeklong art exhibition at Gallery Cosmos-2 in the capital’s Mohakhali area.

The accomplished artists have experimented with oil, acrylic, enamel and water colour while terracotta and wood at the exhibition.
Titled ‘Class of 1979 Charukala,’ the art show begun on Monday. Danish Ambassador in Dhaka Svend Olling inaugurated the event as the chief guest while eminent artists Shamarjit Roy Chowdhury and Mahmudul Haque were present as guests of honour at the programme, jointly supported by Cosmos Group, Cosmos-Atelier71 Printmaking Studio and Shaheed Colonel Jamil Foundation.
Works of Ariff Shaheen, Afroza Jamil, Dhananjoy Chandra Mondal, Dilruba Latif Rosy, Fahmi Khan, Lala Rukh Selim, Md Rezauzzaman, Mokhlesur Rahman, Sharif, Shapan Kumar Sikdar, Syeda Mahbuba Karim, Uttam Kumar Karmakar and Zahid Mustafa are put on display at the show.
Uttam Kumar’s abstract works titled ‘Rain-2’ and ‘Breaking Space,’ done by enamel paint, draw attention of the viewers for the illusive use of the shades of blue on large canvases.
The exhibition will remain open daily from 11:00am to 8:00pm except Sunday until June 24, 2012.
