BUET students organise photo show
Students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) are displaying their photography skill at a three-day show ‘Transcendence –Beyond Time’, which began on Tuesday at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi.

The exhibition organised by BUET Photography Society (BUETPS) displays 50 selected photographs. The colour and black and white photographs on display feature different categories of photography such as wildlife, portrait, landscape, macro and others.
The show demonstrates the young photographers’ potential in terms of compositions, positioning, balancing elements, depth, framing, symmetry and pattern.
Of the photographs Aneek Mustafa Anwar’s photo tiled ‘Spring’ portrays the fresh nature. Aneek’s photo makes visitors gaze at it because of its brilliant colour.
Nayem Hossain’s photo shows a couple of butterflies sitting on a leaf, while Kazi Fahriba Mustafa’s portrait presents the face of a little girl.
Farshid Raihan has proved his photographic talent in a black and white snapshot which articulates the speed of a busy road in Dhaka during rain.
Javed Miandad’s conceptual photo depicts pilgrims. White dresses and shadows of pilgrims create a spiritual feeling in the minds of visitors.
Tahmid Syed Abtahi portrays the spirit of youth through concert photography. M Ariquzzaman, S M Mehdi Hasan, Sahyeeka and Binte Alam Hritida beautify the exhibition with their wildlife photography.
BUETPS has been inspiring students of BUET for the last 15 years, to nurture their talent and zeal in photography, away from academic pressures.
Beginning on 12th June, the exhibition will end today.
