DU students set example giving Taka 6,500 to construct Padma Bridge
Students of Dhaka University (DU) today set an example for all to follow their footsteps after giving Taka 6,500 to the Prime Minister's fund in an effort of the government to construct the much-talked Padma Bridge in own financing.

In response to the call of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, students of 16th batch of BBA of Dhaka University handed over the count to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office, according to a DU press release.
Lauding the students for their initiative DU VC Siddique said, "The significance of the initiative is immeasurable though the amount is negligible."
Among others, Dean of Business Faculty Prof Dr Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Management Studies Department Professor Dr Md Ataur Rahman, Soil, Water and Environment Department Prof Dr SM Imamul Haque, Management Information System Department Prof Dr Hasibur Rashid were present on the occasion.
Referring to the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's historical call upon all to participate in the Liberation with their belongings, Prof Dr Ataur Rahman today requested the students to participate in the government effort to construct the Padma Bridge with own financing by providing the money you (students) have in pocket while taking his class.The students immediately responded to the call.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina earlier said her government would construct the much-waited Padma Bridge with own financing and assured the countrymen of launching the construction of the bridge this year and sought support of the countrymen and
expatriate nationals in this regard.
