Fast-unto-death at JU: 2 fall sick
Two of the four Jahangirnagar University students fell sick as they are continuing their fast-unto-death for the second consecutive day on Wednesday demanding resignation of the vice chancellor.

Two teachers on behalf of Shikkhak Samaj – Soma Momtaz and Shamima Sultana – today joined the four students, who are also protesting an attack on cultural activists by a group of Bangladesh Chhatra League men.
Shikkhak Samaj is demanding the resignation of VC Prof Shariff Enamul Kabir since the murder of Zubair Ahmed, an English department student, on January 9.
Four JU students -- Russel Rana, Zubair Hossain, Sadia Zafrin and Atia Ferdaus Chaiti -- under the banner of Sangskritik Jote started the fast-unto-death programme in front of the main gate of the VC’s residence around 10:00am Tuesday.
Of them, Rana and Zubair fell sick Tuesday night and were put on saline.
Hamida Sultana, president of Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK), and human rights activist Khushi Kabir arrived at the JU in the morning to express solidarity with the demonstrating students.
