'Public humiliation of teacher is a punishable offence'

Law Minister Anisul Huq harshly criticised the incident of public humiliation of a headmaster of a school in Narayanganj and termed it “a punishable offence.”

He was speaking to journalists at a programme this morning, referring to the incident that has gone viral on the social media platform.

“It's a crime. You cannot take law into your own hands. This is unacceptable,” he told the journalists.

The headmaster of a school in Narayanganj was forced to do sit-ups holding his ears in presence of local Jatiya Party lawmaker AKM Selim Osman on May 13.
