Court orders confiscation of MP Rana’s property

A Tangail court on Tuesday asked the authorities concerned to confiscate the property of 10 fugitives including Awami League MP from Tangail-3 Amanur Rahman Rana and his three brothers in a case filed over freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder.
Judge Golam Kibria of Tangail Senior Judicial Magistrate Court passed the order as the as the 10 are on the run in the sensational case, Tangail court Inspector Anwar Hossain told on Tuesday afternoon.
AL leader and freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed was shot dead near his residence in the town on January 18, 2013.
On January 22, 2013, Faruk’s wife Nahar Ahmed filed the murder case with Tangail Model police station against unidentified criminals.
On February 3, 2016, a charge-sheet was submitted against 14 persons.
On July 06, 2016, a Tangail court issued an arrest warrant against ten persons including Rana and his three brothers Shahidur Rahman Khan Mukti, Saniyat Khan Bappa, and Jahidur Rahman Khan Kakon in the case.
