Arrest of Bashundhara chief ordered
A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered the arrest of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan Shah Alam and nine others on charge of grabbing a land in South Keraniganj.

Shah Alam, also chairman and managing director of East West Property Development Private Ltd, a concern of Bashundhara Group, has been accused of grabbing about 20 decimal lands by making forged documents in connivance with nine locals of Keraniganj.
Judicial Magistrate Taiyab ur Hasan Ujjal passed issued the arrest orders against Shah Alam, Md Liton, Abdul Karim, Samsuddin, Rahim Miah, Mofazzal Hossain, Sheikh Farid, Akhtar Hossain, Md Hanif and Abul Hossain.
Abed Ali, a resident of Kunli in South Keraniganj, filed the case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on May 7.
In compliance with a directive by the court, police turn in a report on the case on June 18.
