Purnima to celebrate birthday in Chittagong
Dhaka, July 11 (Priyo.com): Today is the birthday of national film award winning actress Purnima. This year Purnima will celebrate the day at her husband’s residence in Chittagong. She has been out of acting for last few months.
Purnima's family name is ‘Rita.’ She debuted her film careehttp by movie “E Jibon Tomar Aamar” in 1997 in which popular hero Riaz performed against her.
With its continuation she has performed against many popular heroes including late Manna, Amin Khan, Ferdous and Sakib Khan.
Purnima acted mentionable movies are: “Mayer Somman,” “Khobordar,” “Iblish,” “Niswas-e Tumi Biswas-e Tumi,” “Laal Doriya,” “Jamai Swashur,” “Moner Majhe Tumi,” “Megh-er Pore Megh,” “Shasti,” “Hridoy-er Kotha,” “Akash Chhoya Bhalobasa” and many more.
Her acted Mostafa Kamal Raj directed movie “Chhayachhobi” is waiting to release soon. Arefin Shuvo acted against her in this movie. She received national film award to perform in Kazi Hayat directed movie “Ora Amake Bhalo Hote Dilona” in 2010.
Purnima's first film was E Jibon Tomar Amar (1997), which was released when she was in the ninth grade. Her most successful film to date is Moner Majhe Tumi (2003), which was co-produced by[clarification needed] both Bangladesh and India.
In 2004, she appeared in Megher Pare Megh, directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam about the Liberation War of Bangladesh. The story is based on Rabindranath Tagore's short stories Shashti and Shuvashini.
The first one Shasti (2004) is based on Tagore's same short story, for which she received critical acclaim. In another movie, Shubha (2006), she acted as a mute girl. Her other notable commercial successes are Hridoyer Kotha 2006 and Akash Chhoa Bhalobasa 2008. Recently released were Poran Jaye Jolia Re (2010) and Matir Thikana in 2011.
