Govt. fixes office timing for Ramadan

SANGSAD BHABAN. June 24, 2013 (BSS/ The government today fixed office timing for the holy month of Ramadan.

According the decision all government, semi-government and utonomous offices will remain open from 9 am to 3.30 pm with 15 minutes break from 1.15 pm to 1.30pm.

The decision was taken in the weekly meeting of the cabinet held at the cabinet room of the Sangsad Bhaban with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

Cabinet members, PM' advisors, state ministers in charge of various ministries and concerned secretaries were present.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, cabinet secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said, the Supreme Court will decide about its office time during the month of Ramadan while private organisations will also take decision on their own.

Mosharraf Hossain said today's cabinet in principle approved the draft of Investment Corporation, Bangladesh (ICB) Act - 2013 which proposed for reevaluating share price of ICB certificates at Taka 10 from existing Taka 100.

The draft along with other proposals recommended for raising the authorized capital of the ICB to Taka 1,000 crore from present Taka 100 crore.

The cabinet also okayed the draft of the National Agriculture Policy 2013 aimed at making it befitting to the time through incorporating all international regulations and provisions.

The draft has been prepared to address the difficulties of production, processing, marketing as well as employment in the
agriculture sector, the cabinet sectary said.

The cabinet was informed about the participation of the Prime Minister in the Asia Pacific Water Summit in Chiang Mai, Thailand
on May 19-20 last.

The meeting was also informed about the visit of the Information Minister to India from April 10 to 13, 2013.
