Prices of reconditioned-cars to fall

Dhaka, June 12 ( Prices of reconditioned vehicles are decreasing up to TK 1.5 lakh as depreciation facilities rose in the proposed budget of Fiscal Year 2013-14.

Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association president Habib Ullah Don said, “Within the next two months, consumers get the facilities of the budget.”

Thanking the government in an interview, he also said, “As depreciation facilities has increased 35 to 45 percent on 2008 and 2009 model vehicles in the proposed budget, the reconditioned vehicles prices will decrease TK 1.5 lakh per piece.

But the 2011 and 2012 model vehicles prices will increase TK 1.5 lakh per piece. For this he urged to increase depreciation rate 45 to 60 percent on this type of vehicle.

The BRVIDA president said, “Microbus is a public service vehicle as the vehicles are being used in school-college, Office-court, hospitals. But import duty on microbus remains unchanged at 60 percent. We are demanding the removal of duty on such type of vehicles.”
