BNP calls countrywide hartal for Thursday (Video)
Dhaka, Mar 6 (Priyo.com/UNB): Opposition BNP called a countrywide daylong hartal for Thursday protesting attacks on its demonstration in the city on Wednesday.
“Ruling party men attacked our peaceful demonstration in connivance with police without any provocation. It’s part of government’s conspiracy to foil our programme. We got stunned with the incident. So, a countrywide hartal will be observed tomorrow protesting the incident,” BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told a press conference.
He also claimed that 150 leaders and activists, including standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan and Dhaka city unit member secretary Abdus Salam, were injured in the attack at the city’s Nayapaltan.
